'ബെർമുഡാ ത്രികോണം'

The Bermuda Triangle is a mythical section in the western part of the North Atlantic Ocean, which has no specific boundaries, where dozens of ships and airplanes are believed to have vanished. As for an explanation for the disappearances, the imaginatively romantic believe that mysterious forces suck the vessels into the depths of the ocean causing them to disappear forever, and the logically pragmatic point to natural phenomena that can render the ocean treacherous for navigation. As for evidence to support the explanations, well, there aren’t too many. 

In this poem, Bermuda Thrikonam, one sees that the fabled Triangle has caught the imagination of the poet too in his own unique, reflective, philosophical way. Man embarks on the journey of his life, crossing the ocean of time, leaving the very roots of his essential being, in search of the paradisiacal abode of his dreams. Though swirling, sinking and drowning in the eddy of his own desires, he continues to yearn for the imagined greener pastures on the far-away shores. Caught in the whirlpool of his aspirations and greed, he seeks, in vain, the gates to his heaven. Was it, after all, a mirage? Where is the promised land of his dreams?

'ബെർമുഡാ ത്രികോണം'

എങ്ങു നാം കിനാക്കണ്ട 

     വാഗ്ദത്തതീരം? ദൂരെ 

മഞ്ഞുമൂടലിൽ പാർത്ത 

     നാകഗോപുരദ്വാരം?

ഒക്കെയും കാനൽജ്ജല-

     മായിരുന്നുവോ? കൂരി-

രുട്ടിലിക്കര കാണാ-

     ക്കടലിൽ കേഴുന്നോർ നാം,

'ബെർമുഡാ' ത്രികോണത്തിൻ 

     ചുഴിയിൽ കറങ്ങിയും 

വൻകയങ്ങളിൽ താണു 

     മുങ്ങിയും വലയുന്നു.

ഉള്ളതൊക്കെയുംവെടി-

     ഞ്ഞുറ്റോരെപ്പിരിഞ്ഞു നാം 

വന്നതിപ്പെരും കടൽ 

     ച്ചുടലക്കളത്തിലോ?

അക്കരെ,ക്കടലുകൾ-

     ക്കക്കരെ മരതക-

പ്പച്ചയാം മണിദ്വീപം 

     പിന്നെയും വിളിക്കുന്നോ?

എങ്ങു നാം കിനാക്കണ്ട 

    വാഗ്ദത്തതീരം? ദൂരെ 

മങ്ങിയും തെളിഞ്ഞുമാ-

     നാകഗോപുരവാടം!
